General Manager Inspection at Kanchrapara Workshop on 11.07.2024

On 11th July 2024, the General Manager, Shri. Milind K Deouskar (GM/E.Rly), conducted a comprehensive inspection of Kanchrapara Workshop, E.Rly. The inspection aimed to review the facilities, assess new infrastructure, and evaluate operational performance.

The General Manager conducted a detailed inspection of Shop No. 11 and reviewed the new PU paint shed. This was followed by an inspection of Shop No. 10, focusing on the Bogie Section. In Shop No. 9, the GM/E.Rly examined a state-of-the-art, fully automatic mica under cutting and deburring machine. This advanced machinery is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and precision of the workshop’s operations. The inspection continued to Shop No. 14, covering the Coil Section, Armature Section, and Apparatus Section, ensuring a comprehensive review of these critical operational areas. The General Manager also inspected Wheel Shop No. 2 to ensure the workshop meets the required standards for wheel production and refurbishment.

In the Carriage Complex, the General Manager inspected Shops No. 29C and 29B and oversaw the POHed EMU rake. This was followed by the inspection of the dust-free room in Shop No. 20. These facilities aim to enhance meeting efficiency and improve maintenance standards. The inspection also included a detailed review of Shop No. 17.

The GM/E.Rly inspected the HLR Store Depot and the newly constructed conference room at the Halisahar Store. This new facility aims to enhance the efficiency of meetings and training sessions, providing a modern and well-equipped space for staff gatherings and administrative functions. The General Manager also participated in a tree plantation drive at the Halisahar Store. This initiative underscores the commitment to environmental sustainability and the importance of green practices in railway operations. The visit continued with a review of the HLR/KPA Cutting Yard’s operations and efficiency.

The General Manager visited ‘Converse’ (Art Gallery) and ‘Treasure Trove’ (Heritage Museum) to appreciate the cultural and historical exhibits.

The inspection by the General Manager was thorough and included the review of new facilities, detailed inspections of various shops, and interactions with staff and unions. This visit underscores the commitment to enhancing the operational efficiency and infrastructure of the Kanchrapara Workshop.
